Melasma

Melasma generally occurs when estrogen and/or progesterone stimulate pigmentation hormones, causing dark brown, irregular sized patches on the face. The condition occurs most frequently in darker skinned women, but can also occur in lighter-skinned people of both sexes.

VISIA Demonstrates Sun-Damaged Skin on CBS-TV

The CBS Early Show has turned to Canfield’s VISIA Complexion Analysis System to add impact to a segment on skin care. Using VISIA’s unique multi-spectral analysis, Dr. Jeanine Downie was able to demonstrate graphically the damaging effects of summer sun on the subject’s skin. Based on the VISIA analysis, Dr. Downie then described the various treatments available to prevent and correct this type of damage.
